From Trains to Triumph: A Journey of Faith, Resilience, and Divine Design

There’s a profound truth in the fact that the journey from pain to purpose is never linear. My story is a testament to that reality.

At fifteen, my life took an unexpected turn when I encountered Christ. Raised in a Muslim home, I knew the weight of family expectations and religious traditions. But everything changed when I had an encounter with Jesus that left me transformed. One moment, I was a lost, confused teenager; the next, I knew my life had been changed forever. Yet, with that transformation came a price—a separation from everything I had known.

My family rejected me after I gave my life to Christ. They disowned me, leaving me to navigate life alone as a teenager. I went from the comfort of home to sleeping on trains, with only $39 in my pocket and the promise of God’s grace to sustain me. It was one of the most challenging periods of my life, but it became the foundation for my unshakable faith.

During this time, God’s presence was undeniable. He guided me in ways I could never have imagined. One of the most profound moments came years later, when I discovered that my family had withheld my U.S. citizenship documents out of spite. For over a decade, I believed I wasn’t a citizen, struggling to replace documents, paying fees, and living in uncertainty. When I finally applied for citizenship, I was told I had been a U.S. citizen the entire time. That moment was a revelation—God had known, and He had a plan. He used this very circumstance, to sharpen my character and launch me into purpose.

As I grew in faith, I also grew in resilience. From working odd jobs to enrolling in the prestigious school of my dreams, I pursued my bachelor’s in economics and data science. I learned to adapt, innovate, and excel, even in the face of adversity. My entrepreneurial journey reflects that same spirit.

Today, I am the founder of Affluence Xponential Ventures and SkillSwapr, ventures inspired by my journey and designed to help others unlock their potential. These businesses reflect my commitment to serving those who feel unseen, just as I once did. I am driven by the belief that everyone deserves a chance to thrive and make an impact.

I’m also honored to announce that I have been nominated for the Entrepreneur of Impact competition, where your votes can land me a feature on Forbes. This isn’t just a personal milestone—it’s a chance to showcase how faith, God’s favor and resilience can lead to transformative impact. It’s an opportunity to inspire others to believe that no matter how broken their story may seem, God specializes in taking the shattered pieces of our lives and crafting them into a beautiful masterpiece.

From encountering Christ to enduring separation, from sleeping on trains to building businesses, from fighting for my identity to standing in my God-given purpose—my story is not just one of overcoming adversity; it is a testament to the power of faith, resilience, and the belief that God’s plan is always greater than our own.

But beyond the triumphs, I see my journey as a call to stewardship. God has entrusted me with gifts, opportunities, and experiences not for my own gain, but to serve others. Every struggle I’ve endured has shaped me to be a steward of the blessings He’s poured into my life—a steward of hope, of vision, and of the resources He’s entrusted to me. From the train stations to the heights of entrepreneurship, I am reminded that everything I have is His, and it’s my responsibility to use it for His glory and the betterment of others.

Through stewardship, I hope to inspire others to see their own challenges as seeds of purpose and to use what they’ve been given, no matter how small, to impact the world in meaningful ways.
